Struggles, Suffering, and Final Victory

When sick or injured, our instinctive fear is dying. In poverty circumstances, it is natural to fear hunger and even exposure. Our flesh is weak and selfish. But the crown of life demands sacrifice of self, suffering while in the world and, through it all, keeping the faith no matter what.

Human life is unique. Human death is unique to man because nature didn’t sin, man sinned. Sooner or later, our body gives way to the disintegrating effects of ageing, and we die – all of us. We lost our power over life by sin, and death reigned (and still reigns) until time itself must also die. Then, God creates a new heaven and a new earth where volition is no longer a prerequisite because we have, as believers, made our final choice to believe, honor, and obey our Savior God – thanks to the cross.

One of the processes of life is learning who the self is, and dealing with self. Man becomes a slave to his senses and is never granted the ultimate experience of fullness or satisfaction. We can never be satisfied while separated from our Creator. We can never be satisfied in the flesh.

Christ defeated sin on the cross, and had the final victory over death by His resurrection and ascension. In the end, the old things shall pass away, and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord… forever.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.
