READ, LINGER, PROCESS…

 

Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. No need to.


God is the street light, the city light, the heavenly light – God is light.


Look out for number one,

Make your own rules,

Win at all costs,

Nice guys finish last,

The power is within you,

blah, blah, blah, ad nauseum…

These clichés certainly expressed the self-existence mentality of existentialism. Life is not living every day for satisfying fleshly lusts, life is not a party of self.


God lives in the ever-present.


Eternity declares, “Time has its restorative purpose by God’s decree for humanity’s benefit, for relationship to God, for preparation and conformity, for transformation toward God, in God.”


Hope is a great preservative. Hope is a sculptured stone from a mountain of despair.


A flickering light leads my thoughts across the great divide.


The lies we tell ourselves about ourselves become invisible enclosures that house our slippery selves.


The more we have, the more we want – wealth, power, possessions, until we are master of the universe, which would make us like God – like satan.


If we do not question reality, we have disengaged from reality.


Human beings have always inclined to find answers in spiritual rather than material. We have always displayed human proclivity toward the God who created us with insatiable desires toward God.

It is when we fill that God-shaped void with things contrary to Him that we find trouble.


I find it interesting that God induces fear, and release from fear, through the cross. Fear of sin’s penalty is relieved at the cross. Guilt is abolished by trust in a trustworthy God.


Sometimes in our relationships we have expectations beyond reason. Therefore, we must look beyond the relationships, because God does not disappoint.
