There can be no effective cultural change until a spiritual change takes place in the individual. For this to occur, the local church must teach and equip each believer to be an informed and effective communicator. Spiritual transformation occurs when the individual trusts the cross-work of Christ and begins to metabolize and store Bible doctrine in the soul ready for application in everyday life.
As spiritual darkness increases, the believer’s light must become brighter to counteract darkness and untruth. Believers need to know truth, therefore truth must be defined in a world of untruth. As believers, we must be bold and yet humble as we challenge society with the truth of the Gospel. If Christians do not stand for truth, who will?
As a culture, America (and the world for that matter) have lost touch with reality – the reality of God as the Author of life.
When morality is not based on the character of God, it is based on individual agendas. If we are our own sovereignty, not only have we replaced God with self but, as a culture, we have opened the door to self-destruction. Autonomous individualism will destroy not only democracy but nationalism. In this scenario, civil war is inevitable because everyone expects to get their own way. Sound like anyone you know or anyone you’ve heard lately?
Society is raising undisciplined spoiled brats, and they will turn against us and the authority of truth. They will turn against each other and self-destruct in a fog of self-deceit. Remove God from the equation of life and the vacuum in the soul will be filled by satanic doctrine.
