Thoughts to Ponder in Your Walk with the Lord
READ, LINGER, PROCESS…
The solution against developing a love for the world is to develop a love for the Word—both the living Word (Yeshua/Jesus) and the written Word (Bible). The key to conquering love of the world is to love the Father, just as Jesus loved the Father. Victory over the flesh is by the Holy Spirit through the Word. Power over the devil is in the Son, Jesus Christ.
Chuck Colson in his book “The Good Life” (page 101) stated: “Two of the great paradoxes in life must be understood—the evil in ourselves before we can embrace the good life, and we have to lose our lives to save them.” Chuck went on to ask, “What good is life if we can no longer find good in it? Before we can find the good life, we have to find what’s good about life itself.”
When men fail to respect and believe God’s Word, all else is tragedy.
Christ said to the Pharisees, “But if you do not believe the writings of Moses, how will you believe My words?” – John 5:44-47
The watchwords of Christ, though full of light and life, cannot be seen by dead men’s eyes.
I am a soul. I have a body, which houses (covers) my soul. I have, as a believer, a spirit which reconnects me to my Creator-God through Jesus Christ, His Son. The center of who I am is my soul. I am immortal as a soul.
Dust is dust. Then God sculpted/molded the dust into a body with form. Into the body God breathed His spirit-life (soul-life), which was accompanied by everything necessary for a perfect man.You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Truth doesn’t change, it remains truth forever.
Truth is, whether you believe it or not. Truth does not require your personal belief to be true—fire burns, whether you believe it or not. Poison kills, whether you believe it or not. Certain things do not require your personal belief to be so—they simple are so.
God pursues man.
Just and unjust. Good and evil. How do we know there is a difference?
The snows of winter gives way to the mists of spring and resurrection.
There are two types of worship: man’s way, and God’s way. God’s way is faith, praise and reverence, thinking, knowledge and learning, God’s Word, the filling of the Spirit, thanksgiving, acknowledgment and recognition, trust, obedience, appreciation, application, and witnessing.
The Voice of the Word
The voice of God’s Word enchants and enriches the souls of his followers. It echoes in the factory and in the fields. It echoes from sacred bliss, mingles with the songs of birds, and freshens the scent of wildflowers. God’s voice sings to the hearts of man—open and I will come in.
Philosophy could be defined as love for the unknown—the unknown being the absolute, or the love of wisdom, or the love of the search for reason, or the love of the search for wisdom, the nature of ideas, love of the search for understanding, or in search of truth, or a search for the meaning of life— of reality.
What then is the purpose of memory, intellect, and volition—the mentality of the soul? Whose purpose is soul-thinking/soul-response toward God, toward His Word, toward life?
All of the senses pertain to the physical. It is the soul which must respond to God—to the cross. Faith then is the criteria for soul-response and soul-action, the senses (empiricism) and rationalism/reason inevitably reject faith as the premise to salvation. Sleep, pride, hate, anger, resentment, envy, etc, all are connected by and to the flesh—it is the human nature (sin-nature) which is in the flesh. Remove man’s soul from the body and the soul does not hate, envy, etc. There is remaining, however, anguish or bliss, which are mental or soulish.
If people look down on those less fortunate, it should be to encourage them to look up.
God is a beautiful necessity.
When love comes on wings of flight, it brings joy and wonder to life.
Love is both happiness and sorrow, passion and pain, when comes tomorrow.
Love loses reason, then finds it.
Heaven has no rage, no hatred, no scorn, no tears, no fears, no pain, no competition, no contradiction.
