Raging Rivers – Straight Circle

Once upon a time, waters of a great river raged and the mountains shook at its roaring. The mighty river forged its way through the canyons and carried with it the mountains to the sea. Where the mountains once stood, valleys, forests, and beautiful meadows flourished. The sea was displaced by the mountains and its waters now flow peacefully through the valleys where once the river raged. From destruction and chaos came regeneration and renewal.

“And surely the mountains falling come to nothing and the rock is removed out of it’s place. The waters wear the stones and wash away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth” (Job 14:18,19).

“He puts forth his hand upon the rock, He overturns the mountains by the roots. He cuts out rivers among the rocks, and his eye sees every precious thing” (Job 28:9,10).

“He turns rivers into a wilderness and the water springs into dry ground. He turns the wilderness into a pool of water and dry ground into water springs; and there by the rivers and the water springs he makes the people to dwell and they prepare a city for habitation, and sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase” (Psalm 107:33, 35-37).

Be still and know that God controls all things. For God is King over all the earth. He reigns over all things from the Throne of His Holiness. Every beast of the forest is God’s. He knows by name every fowl that flies over the mountains. He is familiar with every creature that roams the earth.

Great is thy faithfulness, oh Lord. My soul follows close behind you. In the shadow of your wings I am safe. I remember you, oh Lord, upon my bed and in my comings and goings. I meditate on you in the night watches.

The Lord, my Lord, does visit the earth and makes peaceful the raging rivers. The Lord turns the sea into dry land. He waters the ridges abundantly. The Lord makes the furrows soft with rain. He places the springs that become brooks to nourish the land. The little hills and the valleys rejoice on every side. His love is throughout the earth in the devil’s world.

Life flows from God and to God through the circle of His love. The circle runs in a straight line from eternity, through time, and on to eternity. All life moves and has it’s being in the circle.

Most people will not acknowledge the straight circle that surrounds them on every side, even though there is a cross on every curve.

A man, wise in his own deceit, is a fool for eternity.

The Rock doesn’t move, only it’s shadow – the soul image of God.
