Repentance

Acknowledging (agreeing with God) sin, disobedience, and rebellion. A turning back to God (Matthew 9:13; Luke 5:32). Repentance means a change of mind (Genesis 6:6-7). Experiencing feelings of remorse (regret), conviction, guilt, shame for past conduct leads to repentance — a change of mind regarding God and His involvement in your life (Matthew 27:3).

Repentance as presented by Jesus, regarding the Kingdom of God, is two sides of the same coin: by repentance one turns away from sin; by faith one turns toward God accepting Christ as Savior. Repentance is the process of turning away from disbelief to belief in Christ (literally, a change of mind). Repentance is the “humbling” process of conviction by the Holy Spirit.
