Idolatry is the worship of anything or anyone besides God. Giving anything a higher priority in one’s life — putting God second to self is a form of idolatry (Reference Exodus 20:2-5; 22:20; Deuteronomy 4:15-19; 5:7-9).
Idolatry of any kind is forbidden for the believer.
