The Searchlight And The Dipper

A Devotional for Meditation and Action

Desperate men and women subconsciously yearn for God’s love, mercy, and forgiveness. They are in search of truth, peace, and light. As ambassadors we hold in our hands a searchlight and a dipper.

The searchlight shines in the darkness so that humanity can see the cross. The dipper is for dipping into the water of life that flows from it.

We must shine the searchlight and dip the water for all who will receive, to find their way, and to drink the eternal water. From that light and from each drink, untold thousands or perhaps millions may be saved as the dipper is passed from hand to hand all across future ages of humanity.

This devotion based on John 1:1-18; 4:14; 6:36-40; 8:12; 14:6; Galatians 2:5; Ephesians 4:15; 2 Timothy 2:15.

We’ve a story to tell to the nations,

that shall turn their hearts to the right.

A story of truth and mercy,

A story of peace and light.

A story of peace and light.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,

And the dawning to noon-day bright.

And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth,

The kingdom of love and light.”
