Resurrection Celebration

April 5th, 2020  2:00-4:00 a.m.

In the First Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians (A.D. 54); Chapter one, verse 10, we read: and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come.”

We, as believers, await Christ’s return. To await Christ’s return (vs. 10) and to serve the Living and True God (vs. 9 – preceding) are here set forth as the aim of conversion and the characteristic of the Christian life. Analyzing further, this hope presupposes faith. “We await – whom He raised from the dead.”

The resurrection of Jesus is the great historical fact by which He is shown to be the Son of God (Romans 1:4), and by which, at the same time, His return is rendered certain (1 Peter 1:3-5). In other words, Christ’s resurrection is proof of our salvation by faith and that very salvation is also certain!

Furthermore, may I point you toward verse 12: to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who called you into His own kingdom and glory.”

His own kingdom and glory. Both words have the same rank of expression and emphasis. It is not therefore the “kingdom of His glory” nor “the glory of His kingdom.” The “glory” is the glory of God.

We, as believers, have been called to participate in His kingdom. When Christ comes at the Rapture, if we are still living, will be called up into God’s glory. Is that awesome or what? The Rapture will be a change of the living believers (1 Corinthians 15:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:17).

With Easter a few days away at the time of this writing, I thought these things would be appropriate, and I hope you find encouragement and peace in these trying times. God has always blessed America. But, America has not always blessed God. The world needs GOD! The world does not respect God and our Savior Jesus Christ/Yeshua. The collapse of freedoms worldwide should cause all men to seek God.

As you meditate on Christ, thank God for sending Christ to die in your place, and then raising Him for your salvation. God rescued us and restored us, and soon He will call us into His glory. What a wonderful grace plan! What a wonder Savior-God.

Blessings in Fields of Grace.
