GOOD, GREAT, CHIEF SHEPHERD
The following footnote on John, chapter 10, verse 11 is from the Lindsell Study Bible, Concordance, Published by Tyndale, Page 164:
“Christ is called the Good Shepherd in John 10:11, the Great Shepherd in Hebrews 13:20, and the Head or Chief Shepherd in 1 Peter 5:4. The Good Shepherd died for His sheep, the Great Shepherd is conforming the sheep to His image, and the Chief Shepherd is coming again with His reward for the flock. The Good Shepherd’s work is a finished work, the Great Shepherd’s work is a present work, and the Chief Shepherd or Head Shepherd’s work is a future work.“
Meditate on these things.
