God Is in Control
God directs and controls human history and He controls each believer’s personal history.
Death passed through Christ and Christ passed through death unto life—eternal life. Death has no power; life has no power because everything in life passes through God—what God allows He allows in perfect knowledge.
God has a definite predestined plan that cannot fail His purposes. The life God planned for each of us is for our good and God’s glory (Romans 8:28, 38-39).
Stay calm. God knows. God controls.
The speed-flash of lightning; the power of the thunderclap; the anger of once-tranquil seas—life can come at us with sudden force and surprise, like a car accident or a trip and fall. When these things come into our lives, the sovereignty of God is not surprised and not caught off guard.
Have you ever noticed the word reign inside sovereignty? God reigns in total control. God has veto-power and total authority.
Believers must learn to drink from the well of God’s Lordship—we must let God hold the reins when the horse runs wild. God is sovereign over the universe, the earth, and you (Daniel 4:35; Psalm 19:1;115:3;138:16; Isaiah 43:13;45:7;46:10; Ephesians 1:1; Lamentations 3:37,38; 1 Timothy 6:15; Hebrews 1:3; Acts 17:25; Ecclesiastes 7:14).
Man’s priority is man. God therefore, at times, must checkmate our life so we can see His glory. Luke 22:42,43 and John 11:4 express Christ’s own plead to the Father, but there was no other way to pay for sin to redeem man. The glory of God is far more important than our comfort zones, our desires, even our suffering (Philippians 1:29).
Drink often and meditate on God’s reigning power, his omniscience, his omnipotence. God has a purpose for every believer and He is always present in our suffering, or even in danger.
