Thoughts to Ponder in Your Walk with the Lord
READ, LINGER, PROCESS…
No created thing can satisfy the soul of mankind except the Creator.
Christ fills the void in the soul; the Holy Spirit fills the life of the admitted believer.
We each need to give our lives to the Lord, and give Him what He gave us… His life.
John 13:38a: “Will you lay down your life for my sake?”
What does it profit someone to gain the whole world but lose their soul—separated from God forever…
How lonely. How terrible. How unnecessary. How sad.
What a terrible, horrible mistake to reject the gift of salvation.
Lovingkindness means, “The loyal love of God.”
Respect – disrespect
Loyalty – disloyalty
God loved us first – we respond
Faithful God – unfaithful man
Mercy and forgiveness – no natural affection
Kindness – vindictive, cruel
The Holy Spirit places us in union with Christ, into an eternal, never-ending relationship. We are a new species in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18: “17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”
“Learning life” is perilous transitions of rising and falling, but getting up, recovering, is the lesson being taught… or ignored.
Our behavior reveals the application of truth or untruth.
Divine viewpoint—Scripture truths. Think truth, live differently. Think truth, live deeply.
I will walk in freedom because I seek out truth, and then live truth (Psalm 119: 45). “Redeeming the time” (Ephesians 5:15; Colossians 4:5).
Bible doctrine is our human heritage from God, our spiritual heritage from God, and our national heritage from the absolute truth of God’s divine laws of establishment. Everyone has the responsibility of living in truth. Respect for God and our fellow man is everyone’s volitional responsibility. When God is respected as the ultimate authority, the result is love and respect for one another. National liberty demands respect for legitimately established authority and depends on the cumulative personal integrity of each citizen and is maintained by military protection and victory (2 Chronicles 20:27-30; Nehemiah 4:14).
The Bible is the Word of the Father (Hebrews 4:12). The mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), and the voice of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 3:7).
The doctrines of the trinity, grace, divine essence, and divine decrees have tremendous and profound implications. Through these truths we are afforded deep insight into the infinite being of God. The trinity (Godhead of God) transcends far above us, yet condescends to dwell in us (believers) and impart to us knowledge of Himself and his holy character.
Knowledge of God’s Word fills the void in man’s soul caused by the fall, where we became separated by sin from our Creator God (John 14: 12).
“I thirst” always happens somewhere in the world. Suffering always happens somewhere in the world.
God is the Spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and in truth. A spirit is a non material entity. True reality is not material, it is spiritual because God is.
