Thoughts to Ponder in Your Walk with the Lord
READ, LINGER, PROCESS…
Jewish tradition said that there was, in the temple, a “chamber of secrets,” into which gifts given in secret were available for the poor, to be received in secret. God blesses the secret giver and the secret receiver. There is no secret from God, who rewards the secret receiver and giver.
The cross of Christ is the place of sorrow and shame, for written on the cross was this sinner’s name.
The law dipped me in sin, a terrible state to be in.
But Christ dipped me in His blood, and saved my soul, becoming my God.
In the depths of darkening darkness, Christ came, took my hand in helplessness, delivered my soul to the Father above, and filled me with His heavenly love.
There are inner storehouses, chambers of acclamation, the mysteries that charm and arouse us, where poetry finds words of exclamation. The intrusion of sin and death, the world that seems but a myth. Death is the child of sin, and Satan. Let there be no hesitation, come to the cross that gives new life. Come to the Savior, Christ Jesus our Lord.
Death is the enemy of creation. It has no regard for the beauty or the goodness of life. Death sweeps through the garden of life, destroying the lilies and the roses, the weed and thistle. Flowers hide their beauty beneath green leaves, blushing unseen. But the sting of death, caring nothing for their beauty and fragrance, withers then instantly with its burning breath and frosty arrogance. When death passes by, watchful eyes close to darkness, except for those born into the light of the cross.
“The greatest honor that ever was put on this world was that the Son of Man was once in the world.”
—Matthew Henry
“Christ is the greatest of all the signs and wonders that revealed Him.”

Christ is the living manifestation of the written Word of God. Christ is the Divine Word of the Living God in fleshly form. Christ is God restoring our separation by disobedience.
The Living Word is God’s ultimate weapon against Satan—it is His greatest gift to us.
If God condones our sin, He compromises His character. If He dismisses our sin, He condemns himself. If He assumes our sins, He can redeem us. So God endured the cross and rose from the dead, rather than punish us. He gave us eternal life. He gave us His Son, His Holy Spirit, His written Word. He gave us all He could give—God gave God. We owe God everything—we pay Him nothing back.
Confession does not mean pardon, it means forgiveness. It never means” just as if we never sinned.” It never means amnesty. It means forgiveness.
Deathlessness, endlessness, blessedness, righteousness… all from hopelessness.
Reading stimulates ideas, which are essential to learning. Learning increases knowledge and diversifies it at the same time, which leads to new knowledge. Knowledge, when learned by experiment or experience, becomes wisdom by reflection and meditation.
We should stop looking for the signs and start looking for the Savior’s coming. Then the wrath—tribulation.
Men judge the Bible as if they were a god, but the Bible judges men.
Salvation means deliverance—rescued.
Believers should look for Christ, long for Christ, labor in Christ, learn Christ, lean on Christ, and live for Christ.
