Christ is the Shekinah Glory of Israel. He lived in the Holy of Holies (Exodus 25:21-22; Leviticus 26:11-12; Psalm 91:1; Hebrews 9:5). His presence was visible by a cloud during the day and by a pillar of fire at night so that the Jews would know when He was in the Tabernacle.
The Shekinah Glory is the visible majesty of the divine presence, especially when resting or dwelling between the cherubim on the mercy-seat in the tabernacle, and in the temple of Solomon. The idea which the Scripture conveys is: that of a most brilliant and glorious light, enveloped in a cloud. In the New Testament, the Shekinah is mentioned in Luke 2:9, John 1:14, and Romans 9:4.
In addition, as believers, we are distinctly taught to connect the Shekinah Glory with the incarnation and the future coming of Messiah. Believers should be on the ‘look-up’ for the rapturous return of our Savior and Lord – His return is always imminent.
