Repentance
Repentance is acknowledging and agreeing with God regarding sin, disobedience, and rebellion. It is a turning back to God (Matthew 9:13; Luke 5:32) or turning toward God through a change of mind (Genesis 6:6-7). Experiencing feelings of remorse (regret), conviction, guilt, shame for past conduct or lack of belief leads to repentance—a change of mind regarding God and His involvement in your life (Matthew 27:3).
Repentance, as presented by Jesus regarding the Kingdom of God, is two sides of the same coin: by repentance, one turns away from sin by changing their mind and their attitude toward sin; by faith one turns toward God, accepting Christ as Savior.
Repentance is the process of turning away from (changing your mind regarding) disbelief and to/toward belief in Christ (literally, “a change of mind”). Repentance is the “humbling” process of conviction by the Holy Spirit.
