Repentance is acknowledging and agreeing with God regarding sin, disobedience, and rebellion. It is a turning back to God (Matthew 9:13; Luke 5:32) or turning toward God through a change of mind (Genesis 6:6-7). Experiencing feelings of remorse (regret), conviction, guilt, shame for past conduct or lack of belief leads to repentance – a change of mind regarding God and His involvement in your life (Matthew 27:3).
Repentance, as presented by Jesus regarding the Kingdom of God, is two sides of the same coin: by repentance, one turns away from sin by changing their mind and their attitude toward sin; by faith one turns toward God, accepting Christ as Savior.
Repentance is the process of turning away from (changing your mind regarding) disbelief and to/toward belief in Christ (literally, a change of mind). Repentance is the “humbling” process of conviction by the Holy Spirit.
