The believer is at peace with God based on the cross-sacrifice of the perfect man – Jesus Christ, who died on the cross as payment for the sins of all humanity.
Therefore, to have true and lasting peace with God, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Peace with God (John 14:27) has two meanings, really: You will have true inner peace with God, and you have peace with God in that you are no longer His enemy.
