Pursue Christ

Pursue Christ

God’s perfect love pursues the believer all of his or her life.

God loves the believer with personal love, and the unbeliever with impersonal love, demonstrated by the cross where God imputed our sins to Christ, where He imputed Christ’s (God’s own) righteousness and eternal life to the believer. God provided the solution to sin —Christ. God provided the solution for post-salvation sin for the believer—confession (1 John 1:9), and the Holy Spirit.

God provides His Word for spiritual food and for momentum in your spiritual life. God disciplines the believer when we stray off course—He corrects our course and gets us back on track. Bible doctrine causes us to love and revere our God and Savior—His Word becomes our guide and our authority. Accepting God’s authority over our self-authority is submission, the humbling of self to obey God’s mandates. This is how we grow in grace and mature as Christians.

It is reaching spiritual maturity where we understand what God’s love, plan, and authority are all about. It is on the mountaintop of spiritual maturity in Christ that we truly appreciate the cross, the Word, the Godhead, the plan, and our personal destiny.
