From chaos and calamity. From panic to peace. From a raging storm to candles burning still. Only God can turn raging waves into an altar. God is there.
Journey posts dot our ways as we walk the path that has been prepared for us.
God lets us struggle so that when He comes close we can see Him. His path to us is our storm. And with each storm He cleanses us and we will never be the same — each storm is our gain by His grace.
When you see the light in the cross for the first time is when God saved your soul. Now you can recognize the Lord as the Creator of life and the heavens. You will recognize His wisdom through His Word. You will learn His power through the storms so that you may learn to trust Him. A season of storms and sufferings are a small price to pay for a life with God for eternity.
How many of us have yesterdays that hold us prisoner today?
How many of us build castles around our past and live in a dungeon today?
How many of us have a legion of phantoms that hold us hostage?
Is your castle of regret a prison of depression held hostage by loneliness, anger, fear or resentment?
An unresolved past must be resolved.
Self-pity breeds depression. Depression breeds loneliness. Loneliness breeds contempt and rejection. When we put bars on the doors and windows, the house not only becomes dark, it becomes a prison — a self-imposed prison. Unresolved guilt prevents depression from leaving, haunting our hearts, tormenting our souls.
Paul, the great apostle, wrote: “Worldly sorrows bring destruction.”
When we fail, God does not fail us. Forgive yourself! A new job, a new house, a new state, is not the answer.
See Jesus for details.
