Thoughts to Ponder in Your Walk with the Lord
READ, LINGER, PROCESS…
The glorious fragrant aroma of the cross of His suffering, for us, will sustain us until eternity and for eternity.
God measures humanity by His Son, Christ Jesus the Lord. The summing up of all things is in Christ, as seen in Ephesians 1:4-11.
Our position in Christ is found in Ephesians 2:6. “(He) raised us up with Him, and made us to sit with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus.” Come, sit.
Our life in the world (Ephesians 4:1) is our “walk.” Luke 9:23 is the taking up of our cross, daily. Our attitude toward our spiritual enemies (Ephesians 6:11) is our firm stance of the promises, the Gospel, and the Word—rooted and grounded in His love (Ephesians 3:14-21).
In daily life, our thoughts are occupied with things most necessary to our survival.
Being called by the name “Christian” does not make one a Christian. Living in a Christian nation or born into a Christian family does not make one a Christian. Attending Christian church does not make one a Christian. Being baptized does not make one a Christian. So, what defines a Christian? Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, accepting His free grace-offer of salvation, and trusting the Savior to get you to Heaven.
Decorating ourselves as etiquette demands, living in a country club community, or associating in elite circles does not make one “elite,” except in the eyes of self-deceit, in the hypocrisy of high-mindedness and peers. “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2b).
Unbelievers in Torments (temporary hell) are no longer the fools they once were on earth, for now they have become believers of the lost and dying. In other words, there are no unbelievers in hell.
I ask time to wait
but time says, “No.”
I ask the sunlight to stay
but it comes and goes.
I ask what life is all about
but life says, “Live and find out.”
-Poem by C. S. Craig
Jesus brought truth to earth so we could experience the truth of heaven.
There is too much to life for life to be the end by death.
The heart of God weeps for the outcasts, the ones in unbelief.
Engage the culture. Transform culture by God’s Word.
When I rise on wings of the dawn, I will praise you, O Lord.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
You will fulfill your purpose for me.
Those who fear die many deaths.
To mourn a regret long after it is gone is to invite it back.
Fashion makes fools of followers.
If women offer what men have no language to refuse, which is the weaker sex?
Being content is worth more than wealth… if wealth means you live with daily fear of losing it.
What something is worth is what people think it’s worth.
Man rebels at being second to God’s authority — just as did Satan.
