This is the imputation of God’s own eternal life to the believer at salvation, so we can live with God forever as eternal beings. There is a difference that separates eternal and everlasting: eternal has no beginning and no end; everlasting has a beginning and no end. God is eternal life. When we believe we gain everlasting life by the imputation of God’s own eternal life.
