When the foundations of earth were poured
On what were the footings formed
Who set in place the cornerstone
Who divided the waters from the land
Who measured the way or the distance of existence
Tell Me – if you truly understand; what is in your heart?
You, Lord! It was you who did these things, and I was not.
When the doors were closed to hold the oceans
Who gave limits to the rise of the waves
Who has set the springs of the deep
Who opens and closes the gates of light and darkness
Who measured the recesses of the earth’s womb
Tell Me, if you truly understand; what is in your heart?
You Lord! It was you who did these things, and I was not.
Who gave orders to the light of the mornings
Who gave rise to its dawning
What is the abode of Light – but up
Where does darkness reside – but down
Where is the pathway to their dwelling place
Tell me, if you truly understand, what is in your heart?
You Lord! It was you who gave the orders, and I was not.
What is the course which all the winds must take
From where do they come and to where do they go
Who cuts the channel for the torrents of rain
Who strikes the circuits that sound the thunder
Who gives the plants the water of dew
Tell me, if you truly understand, what is in your heart?
You, Lord! It is you who did these things, and I was not.
Who has bound the chains of Pleiades
Who brings forth the constellations
Who set the Bear in its place
Who designed the Heavens for all to see
Tell me, if you truly understand, what is in your heart?
You Lord! It was you who did these things, and I was not.
Who is the Giver
Who gave breathe to life
Who gave the Son to die for men
Who gave the Cross and Resurrection
Tell me, if you truly understand, what is in your heart?
You, Lord! It was you who gave All, and I was not.
But, Lord, who am I, that you should even speak to me –
I am nothing, you are God
Please tell me Lord, why did you give all these things?
You already know why, my son, for it is written in your heart
Before the world was – I loved you
Before you loved Me – I loved you
I Am God – I Am, that I Am!
Written by inspiration of God’s Holy Word and the guidance of the God the Holy Spirit. Give Praise to our Father and Savior! God leads us up paths of wonder, through fields of Grace.
In honor of my mother, my father, sister and brother; my wife and my children; but most of all to honor my Savior who died in my place that I may live with Him forever.
