Fairy Tale Adventures in Odyssey

Ah, the adventures we can have in imagination – the wonderful tales which can take us to the places full of fun and fancy that await. Pretense? Yes, that’s it – make believe. It can be some truth with more myth, or much truth and some element of myth attached.

Oh, but what a wonderful adventure fairy tales can be – fact and fancy, overflowing perhaps with fun and laughter or touchingly pathos. The rhythm, rhymes, and pathos of fairy tales should begin every child’s first journeys in thought. They inspire all to some degree. But in some, that inspiration is the spark of ignition; in others, the seeds of a life-study will burst forth to light the world with knowledge, entertainment, and leadership. Yes, tomorrow’s leaders are today on adventures in odyssey.

Some fairy tales hold hidden significance, while others teach certain facts and truths such as kindness and morality. Tales give us the thrills of learning; tales show us how to be caring, loving, and considerate.

Before little children can read, they learn tunes and melodies, memorizing words and songs and fairy-tales. No child is too young, no person too old, for learning nursery rhymes, folklore, anecdotes, fairy-tales, and adventures in odyssey – relax and enjoy them, no matter who you are, no matter what your status in life. Live a little! Be young again, even if only for a few fleeting moments.

Just remember it is under the spell of imagination with the tutelage of the fairies that we learn to wonder and think and question. Some of you will take these marvelous journeys into make-believe and become writers of literature, singers, teachers, scientists or explorers, even ministers and veterinarians – mathematicians and storekeepers, too. But whatever you become in life, enjoy the journey, and remember to always help the poor and less fortunate along the way.

As you go through life and learn things, remember to distinguish truth and untruth, right and wrong, good and evil, and always be willing to learn more and share your knowledge or talent.

Go now, search out the mysteries and adventures of life, and remember Jesus Christ is the reason for life; He died so we could be saved from God’s justice and live with Him for all eternity – this is the real truth, and nothing but the truth – so help me, God.

Happy reading! Happy Life!
