Walking With Our Paraclete (The Holy Spirit)

The modern world of secularism has done deep damage, deep treason to the Eternal Intellect, and it is up to Christians to stand fast on Truth, to pray to the Father for guidance, to study God’s Word daily, and to spread the Gospel. We are to plant seeds of God’s Truth’s wherever the Holy Spirit leads us, in all details of our daily lives.

As saved individuals, each believer has been given the indwelling Paraclete (Holy Spirit) by God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, for understanding and teach-ability. Please read and notice that Christ was the first Paraclete after His death and resurrection — in Luke 24:27 – 32, 45, Christ walked alongside two disciples on the Emmaus road. Then, He  fellowshipped at the table. Afterward, when Christ broke and blessed the bread, “their eyes were opened.”

Fellowship with the Lord opens our spiritual hearts to His very real presence in us. In this text Christ “opened the Scriptures” to them and He “opened their understanding.”

Paraclete is a Greek word that means, “called to assist; called to our side,” referring, of course to the Indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given as our ministering spirit — the spirit of indwelling fellowship.

Please turn in your study bible to First John and read chapters 1-5 a time or two. As you do so, the light of fellowship will become brighter and brighter. This book more than any other clarifies how to be filled with the Holy Spirit and live the Christian Life by the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit.

We are so blessed to know our God. Don’t you wish everyone did? Think what the world would be like if everyone knew and respected Christ. Notice again, Christ walked with the two disciples. Here’s another point of doctrine to rest on: fellowship with the Lord is how we are to live the Christian Life. Therefore the importance of “walking” not in the flesh, (out of fellowship), but (in fellowship) walking in the Spirit — sins named (Romans 8:4; 1 John 1:8-10). The Christian walking in fellowship is able to discern all things to a better understanding — a more clarified understanding (1 Corinthians 2:15; 1 John 2:27).

We are to search out a matter (research) and meditate on the context (Proverbs 25:2). When we study God’s Word, God illuminates His Word and our understanding. This is why the unbeliever cannot understand the Word of God. Wow!

My brothers and sisters in Christ, this is powerful stuff. God provides necessary spiritual illumination every time we study and pray and meditate. God does this because He loves us. We must be on the alert in our daily walk with the Lord for sudden thoughts of enlightenment, so that God’s Word can daily TRANSFORM our thinking, with the result that we are more and more able to CONFORM to His Image. That knowledge and ability comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit.

GOD’S WORD IS SEALED TO THE UNBELIEVER AND THE BELIEVER OUT OF FELLOWSHIP (1 Corinthians 2:14; 3:1-3; Hebrews 11:3). God is SUPERNATURAL — INFINITE! We are finite, so God provided His wonderful Spirit of Holiness to illuminate His very being. The Holy Spirit makes God understandable.

Happy is the one who pursues God until God calls him home. At home with the Lord — happier still we become in the presence of God the Almighty One. Be happy now, today! True happiness is always from the inside — inner happiness — and not based on emotion, but on a personal relationship with God (which you can have, right this very moment).

The importance of unceasing study cannot be overstated (2 Timothy 2:15). As a believer you have been called to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. You have been called to a life of intimacy, and then called to share this life with the unsaved, share supernatural God with others, because they are still unnatural.
