The Lord’s Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer, as taught by Christ our Savior and LORD.

The Prayer of Simple Faith. The believer’s model for Prayer. We are to pray in this manner.

Matthew 6:9-13: What does each phrase express? What is the Lord teaching us by these precious words? Well, He is teaching us to be specific. To be reverent. To be basic. To be reliant. To be open and completely honest. To speak and meditate with a mental attitude of faith and humility, believing. Let us consider each phrase together:

“Our Father”  — Our personal relationship as His children (by faith in Christ).

“Which art in heaven”  — Faith in God as Supreme Existence.

“Hallowed be thy name” His perfect Righteousness and Justice — worthy of our worship, trust and praise.

“Thy Kingdom come” — Faith – expectation — Second Coming.

“Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven” — Submission, respect, obedience.

“Give us this day our daily bread” — petition for provisions, dependence. Trusting without doubt.

“And forgive us our debts” — confession, cleansing, fellowship. Believers will sin.

“As we forgive our debtors” — compassion for others. Others will sin against us and we are to forgive as Christ forgives.

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” — dependence, trust, deliverance.

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever … Amen. — God is Sovereign as the Only God. HE is the great I AM, Creator and Savior, King of kings, and Lord of lords.

God is real! There is a real kingdom. Heaven exists because God is there.

Praying and meditating often in the Word of God keeps you the believer in direct contact and communication with the LORD your God, with the result that you will be blessed by a deeper personal relationship with Him. Life is meant to be shared with God as we walk by faith in our own Grace-fields.

God has a plan for each of us.  If you truly desire to be closer to God, kneel in your soul and read His Word and listen. Just meditate — be still and wait/ listen. Don’t say anything. Just be still for a while.

Study God’s Word — It contains God’s personal signature.

Share the GOOD NEWS that CHRIST DIED FOR THE UNGODLY.

Happy Studying. Be at Peace with God and yourself everyday as you walk through your own Fields of Grace with the LORD. Do less talking and more listening to His whispers of love and assurance.

Now, perhaps you should read the Lord’s Prayer again, with these fresh insights in mind.

Peaceful meditating to you as you walk with GOD in Grace-fields.
