Bethlehem — The First Christmas

Originally called Ephrath (Genesis 35:16).

Called the City of David, Bethlehem also boasts other facts of interest:

The burial place of Rachel (Genesis 35:15-18).

The home of Naomi and Boaz (Ruth 1:1, 19; 4:9-11).

The birthplace of David and the site of his anointing (1 Samuel 16: 4-13).

The birthplace of Jesus (Micah 5:2 prediction; John 7:42; Luke 2:4).

The birthplace of Mary and Joseph (Luke 2:1-4).

“Oh little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie!

Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by.

Yet in thy dark streets shineth, The Everlasting Light;

The hopes and dreams of all the years are met in thee tonight.

O Come to us Abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel.”

Come soon Lord Jesus!

“Joy to the world, the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King, Let every heart prepare Him room, And heav’n and nature sing, And heav’n nature sing, And heav’n and heav’n and nature sing.”

“Silent night, Holy Night! All is calm, all is bright. Round yon virgin, mother and Child, Holy Infant so tender and mild. Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace.”

“Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere; Go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born.”

This Christmas and every Christmas, send the message of Christ … tell the message of Christ!

Are you shy or embarrassed to tell it on the mountain and every where you go?

Blessings in your fields of Grace!

Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas! Jesus is the real reason we celebrate Christmas! What is your reason?
