We consider it a privilege, Heavenly Father, to fellowship in your Word, to grow in fields of Grace. We ask that the Holy Spirit bless us by these revelations of your Word, so that in the days and years to come we may utilize your Word to Your Glory, Father and in serving Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray. Please open your Bible and read (inhale) these Words of Scripture: Isaiah 55:11; Acts 16:31; Hebrew 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 2:1; Revelation 19:9; Romans 7:4; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:12; 6:17-18; Job 32:8; 33:4; Genesis 2:7; 6:17; 7:15; John 6:32, 33; Hebrews 6:5; 1 Peter 3:18; Psalms 19:7; 2 Corinthians 2:14; 4:18.
Stones of the field: Job 5:23. Each of us have “a covenant with the stones of the field.” What does this mean? We must go back to the principle of interpretation — the Bible must be interpreted in the time in which it was written.
At the time of this writing in Job, stones of the field referred to ammunition for ancient weapons, including slings as in David’s day. Today it would be a bullet, so you would have a covenant with bullets that fly through the air. Which means that in war or in peace, driving to or from work, or asleep in your bed, you have an appointment with death, but God is in control.
However you die, by whatever your means of death, it is appointed, so fear not … “my rod and my staff will comfort you.” God is perfect and His Plan is perfect. God’s timing is perfect for your birth and your death: ‘you will come to your grave in full age, like as a shock of corn comes in its season” (Job 5:26). Shucking the corn is analogous to peeling off the old body of corruption in physical death and going to heaven — “absent from the body face to face with the Lord” (1 Corinthians 5:3 — literal interpretation from the Greek).
Life is a fragrance of memories, both happiness and sorrow. Life in Christ is a fragrance of Love and Sacrifice. Life spent in the Word of God is priceless and it’s rewards are forever in eternity. There is fleeting wealth in time. There is permanent wealth for eternity.
Thank you Father for the honor to fellowship with you (together) in your Word. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die in our place while we were yet lost in sin (Romans 5:8). Thank you, Father, for your Word of Light and Comfort in a darkened world. May we metabolize this overview and allow you, Father, to apply it to our lives for your glory.
